As many people who enjoy knitting will tell you, once you have mastered the simple stitches, the rest follow until you can easily follow the most advanced of patterns. As you can see on my patterns page, there are a variety of patterns you can download to allow you to create your own versions of my designs. Firstly though, you need to know about the basic stitches:

a stitchionary of various stitches knitted in the yarns of today:

stocking stitch
knit on one side purl on the reverse

rib
knit 2 purl 2 row 1 purl 2 knit 2 row 2
