Cruising and crafting
It is grey outside, it is January, and as we dream of strawberries and cream or picnics with friends or chocolate with chocolate ,how about dreaming of crafting with cruising,What a great idea this is (why didn’t I think of it ) Melissa Gower-Pence did and has put together some awesome holiday packages to tempt anyone to go ,can’t knit go and learn, can’t crochet go and learn and beading and spinnning etc all whilst cruising and having a great holiday with like minded crafty souls .
I can just picture it every day would be like going to a yarn event and then chatting for hours about the spoils we had got, the tricks we had learnt, the techniques which looked awesome until some lovely demonstrator had showed us the easy way.As a teacher having a class with you for so long must be like heaven as there is time to follow through make sure your new pupil is heading in the right direction ready for the next step of learning, ready to fly solo and you will be there to see it –marvellous .Well I am going to meet the cruisers of America as they come over on the 13th July to the UK many seeing London for the first time, all after cruising with Barry from Trensetter Yarns wow what an experience .Where do you start to make sure yarnies see all there is in London and also get the retail therapy they will need .We have Gerard and Craig at IKnit London we have Loop we have VVRouleaux for trimmings we have museums and all the normal Royal things of course ,we have Handspinners and Weavers, oh my brain is going into overdrive thinking what else there is to see and do .
The whole concept of cruising seeing new places with like minded folk and learning has really fired me up ,who knows one day you may see me there .
Looking forward to the trade yarn show seeing what is on offer for the coming winter and the new concepts and colours .Will report back when I know more been doing some work with a lovely yarn piccies to come and the new stitch a month lesson, free to all, will be starting in February so keep a look out —-may even try to get some free leaflets with new patterns on for you dedicated knitters out there .Had my hand slapped by the crocheters that although my book Quick Crochet they thought was great I have never done any follow up patterns or freebies so I will address this this spring as well .Do I mix in crocheting with Knitting Notetimes or do I start a brand new blog for crocheting, what do you think? drop me an email to have your say chrissieday@gmail.com
Till the next report keep clicking
